The trend toward change in the world of work has been evident for quite some time. The pandemic acted as a catalyst, showing us that nothing works the old way anymore — everything must adapt. Immediate home office and hybrid meetings have become part of everyday routine. The pandemic strongly influenced and accelerated this development.
Today, it is no longer only about designing a new office — it is much more about the needs of the people who work there. What do people need or wish for in order to enjoy coming back to the office? And not only during the peak days from Tuesday to Thursday.
In a workshop, I worked together with employees to find answers and translated them into a NEW WORK concept: fewer desks, far more workspace opportunities, so that everyone can work how, when, and with whom they want. Alongside these aspects, sustainability plays a key role. Preserving building infrastructures, integrating existing office furniture into the new concept, and using sustainable materials were essential steps.
