The former Sheraton Conference Center in Bogenhausen was given a new lease of life. Smartvillage celebrated its grand opening party in October 2022 and opened its second location in Munich.
The aim was to refresh the outdated design, modernize the existing fixtures and fittings as well as the building infrastructure, and preserve as much as possible. The 3,500-square-meter, two-story space now features 17 individual rooms that offer endless possibilities for workshops, meetings, or events.
To bring these requirements into a holistic look and feel, a motto and storytelling concept were developed for each location. This gives each Smartvillage location its own style, making it unique.
“A Road Trip through Europe” became the theme in Bogenhausen and tells the story of a journey in a VW bus that begins in Munich. Vienna, Versailles, Barcelona, Porto, Ireland, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Denmark, Tuscany, and Sicily are on the itinerary and inspire with their unique design.
Despite a very tight schedule — from the presentation of the design concept to completion in just four months — special attention was paid to sustainability. Why buy everything new when there is the option of using furniture from trade fairs or office clearances? Become a furniture rescuer and give the pieces a second home.
